The Greater Pittsburgh Mustang Club (GPMC) is a non-profit organization that was established in 1986. It is dedicated to the promotion and preservation of Ford Mustang automobiles of all ages. The GPMC strives to be an accurate source of technical and historical information about Mustangs. Currently we have over 100 memberships (over 160 adult members) who own more than 150 Mustangs, antique and special interest vehicles. As a Regional Club of the Mustang Club of America (MCA), we are working hard to become one of the premier Regional MCA Clubs. The GPMC has won an MCA President’s Award in each of the past five years – a very noteworthy accomplishment.
During the year, the GPMC hosts a variety of events and activities. These include the annual All Ford-Powered car show, a Mustang display at the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix, a club picnic, a Fall Foliage tour, a Holiday party, and other events and cruises as planned by the members. We also attend local and national events that are sponsored by other groups. The Carlisle All-Ford Nationals is a favorite event, as are the Regional, National, and Grand National MCA shows and rallies held around the country.
Every June or July we participate in a weekend-long rally of over four Mustang Clubs in our area called Can-Am. Four clubs from Ohio, Pennsylvania and Ontario take turns hosting the event on a rotating basis. The event was hosted by the GPMC in Pittsburgh in 2011 and attracted over 100 participants. It will return here again in 2013, as we’ve arranged for Can-Am to coincide with the 2013 Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix, which has named Mustang their honored Marque of the Year in recognition of Mustang’s 50th anniversary.
As a volunteer organization, the GPMC depends on its members to organize and help with events. We have established a “Pony Point” system to reward members for their help with Club activities. In addition to serving the local and national Mustang communities, the GPMC has supported numerous charitable organizations. During the past thirteen years we have donated over $16,000 to many local and national charities through our fundraising events.
Now in our 28th year, we at the GPMC hope that we can become your Mustang Club.
