2013 Bowling Event

From the GPMC (In)Activities Director:

********IMPORTANT UPDATE********

Hi all – An update for the The Third Somewhat Random GPMC Bowlfest !!!!!!

VERY IMPORTANT :

I was notified by the bowling alley that they are closing early on Sundays for a while. This means our original 6 to 8 time frame (no pun intended) is not available. There are 2 options:

First – They normally close at 5 PM, so 3 to 5 would be best. [NOTE: 3 to 5 was the final decision]

Second – He offered to stay open until 6 PM if we like, so that would be 4 to 6.

Please let me know if either of these is a problem for you. I will do my best to accommodate if possible.  Once I get your feedback, I will make a command decision on the time. Sorry about that.  I really don’t liking command decisions. Too much pressure.

So far, we have 25 people signed up :

  • Mary & Dwight
  • Russ & Donna
  • Bill & ValJean
  • Tim
  • Bob  & Cheryl
  • Joe & Davina
  • Kathy & Steve
  • Tom & JoAnne
  • Jason, Jacquie & Mateo
  • Roger & Toni
  • Gerry
  • Ken & Jennie
  • Jeff & Denise

For those of you still undecided, don’t let this opportunity of a lifetime pass you by.  What could possibly be better than spending a couple of hours watching me have a meltdown on the alley???? A sight to behold. Pure entertainment. Bring your cameras.

The Third Somewhat Random GPMC Bowlfest !!!!!!

OK. So you might say to yourself “I really stink at bowling.”. So what???? So do I.

I’m the only person in history to get a gutter ball WITH THE BUMPERS UP !!!!  (Webmaster’s Note:  What does that mean?  Update: I was informed that Bumper Bowling is where there are bumpers along the gutters that keep the ball in the lane.  Very popular for children, but apparently not a guarantee against gutter balls 😀 )

So come on out and watch me make a fool of myself. At a minimum, the cost of the event is worth that alone.

Where : Miracle Lanes in Monroeville

When :      Sunday April 21, 2013

Time :       5:00-7:00 PM (tentative) [NOTE: 3 to 5 was the final decision]

Arrive a few minutes early to get your ball and shoes. Or bring your own.

Price includes 2 hours of bowling, shoes and one pizza and pitcher of pop per lane.

Four to five people per lane is requested.

Additional food and pop can be purchased. Sorry – the bar is closed on Sundays.

Cost : We pay by the lane so it may vary a little based on how many people come.

Right now, I am guessing between $12 and $15 per person. We (meaning Mary) will collect all the money that night. So far, we have 23 people signed up. But we can add as many lanes as we need so the more the merrier.

The bowling alley is located in the Jonnett Plaza on Business route 22 in Monroeville.
It is a little tricky to get to. The bowling alley is actually in back and under the Big Lots.
Look for a big “BOWL” sign just to the right of Big Lots. Drive through thelittle road in between the buildings and make a left.

Address:

4045 William Penn Hwy, Monroeville, PA 15146

Phone:   (412) 372-3500

Plenty of free parking (Oh sure – I’ve heard that before!!!).

Price is dependent on how many attendees we get.

So let’s get a BIG crowd so we can all have a cheap night out.

YOU MUST RSVP to me to reserve your spot. Please include the number of adults & children.

Please email me or call at 412-373-2909. I need to give them a total count by the 19th,
so don’t wait until the last minute.

If you signed up at Wednesday’s meeting, no need to RSVP. I will be posting a full
list of attendees a little later.

Hope to see you there – Your Humble and Obedient (In)Activities Director – Dwight
