Update: See how some GPMC volunteers spent the evening the following Friday at Starlite.

Members from the Can-Am clubs started arriving in Pittsburgh Friday afternoon. The weekend started with a repeat of the last GPMC-hosted Can-Am – the scheduled get-together at the Starlite Car Cruise was rained out. After drying off, articipants still had an enjoyable evening, sharing desserts provided by GPMC members and – after the rain stopped and the evening promised a beautiful sunset – visiting around a fire at the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel.
On Saturday morning, we were lined up at the hotel, ready for the ride to Schenley Golf Course for the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix, when Jason called to say that golf course officials weren’t letting cars onto the course due to rain. Sue passed around homemade zucchini bread while we waited. The rain had stopped by the time we got there, and we enjoyed a rain-free, if hot and humid, day. Check out Tim’s video of our departure from the hotel. Thanks, Tim!
Dinner on Saturday was at the North Park Lounge. The pink pigs, more accessorized than ever, were handed over to Betty Keller for next year, when the Mahoning Valley Mustang Club will host Can-Am 2014.
Back at the host hotel after dinner – surprise! – desserts were available in the lobby. If you look closely at the GPMC tent at the races on Sunday, you’ll see how we handled the desserts still on hand (there were so many, and they were all delicious!)
Sunday morning was a smoother ride in, since there were no rain delays.
