Dwight’s penultimate (he made me use that word!) activity as your Activities Director was well attended and enjoyed by everyone. Photos by Jennie & Ken Barker, and Karen & Brian Gray. We started with brunch at the North Park Lounge.
- North Park Lounge
Our next stop was the model train display at the Western Pennsylvania Model Railroad Museum. This is a totally volunteer-run museum and well worth the visit. The second floor is a depiction of the railroad industry in western Pennsylvania over the years. As you walk through the exhibit, you travel from Pittsburgh to Cumberland, with many of the towns along the route displayed in miniature. You will recognize many landmarks.
- Station Square
- Cathedral of Learning
- J & L Steel
- Fallingwater
- Photos let you see how closely the models mirror the real thing
- The control room
The first floor has a Plasticville train display, gift shop and snack bar.
If you have photos to share, please send them to Jennie at webmaster@gpmc.org.
Congratulations, Dwight, on a wonderful outing as your penultimate official duty as Activities Director.
The food was delish and the miniature railroad museum a blast – everyone had a great time.
